A LeadCook is in charge of providing direct supervision to kitchen employees on shift to ensure the food prep portion of the business operates economically with high quality, and sustainably. Responsibilities include planning the menu, ordering the supplies, developing the SOPs and training manuals, developing the recipes, calculating the menu item costs and keeping them within our targets, maintaining the grab n go and retail sections of the café. Taking the food inventory at the end of every month, participating in leadership meetings, planning meetings, and vendor relationships. Primary Responsibilities Manage kitchen and kitchen staff Develop and maintain menu, food ordering, food retail, and grab ‘n go stock for all locations Prepare and expedite food Training for new hires on recipes Developing seasonal menus Take inventory, calculate waste, manage pars, calculate menu item costs, ordering Maintain good relationships and communicate with vendors, customers, and coworkers Develop, maintain catering menu and prepare orders Follow our values and working agreements Maintain certifications in accordance with ILDH Planning and strategy meetings with CEO and manager Reviews of you employees Financial goals Performance goals Setting the tone for a productive work environment Responsible for creation and maintenance of SOPs Follow and initiate improvements to existing processes FIFO food Other Responsibilities as needed General Responsibilities Work30-45 hours/week servicing both ofour locations Assist with onboarding new hires specially in the prep room. Customer service that is executed in a personal and professional manner Demonstrates a passion and enthusiasm for company values Self-motivated.
